Meet the Parenting Staff

Karen Greene: Karen joined the CCE parenting program in March 2017 as a Family Support Specialist for the Healthy Families New York program. Karen has two adult children, is currently raising a niece, and is a native of Jefferson County. Karen’s parenting goal is to assist families in fostering a strong healthy bond with their children and creating a nurturing home environment. 

Hannah Stokes: Hannah is the Parenting and Life Skills Educator in the Parenting Program. Hannah completed an undergraduate degree in public health at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. Not long after, became a Certified Childbirth Educator with Lamaze International while working as a Nanny. Hannah has one beautiful nephew, who is the greatest kid on the planet, and three cats who live with her and her partner. Now a military family, Hannah has moved a lot and is happy to have settled here in Watertown. She feels extremely lucky to be able to reach the community through the parenting program at CCE and would like to create an environment where parents feel empowered to be the best they can for themselves and their children.

Amy Zukas: Amy joined the CCE staff in 2017 and the parenting program in 2023 as the Parenting Program Manager. Amy has 2 teenage children, 5 adult step children, and a foster child. Amy grew up in Jefferson County and feels that this is a great area to raise a family. Amy’s parenting goal is to create a network of parenting resources and education within our community that is accessible to all parents. 

Betsy Hennessey: Betsy is a North Country NY native, that is a devoted wife and Mom to her four young adult children. Betsy work in the 4-H Afterschool program for several years. She joined the parenting staff last year as the Youth and Family Engagement Specialist under the Watertown Central School District’s NYS My Brother’s Keeper Grant. Her role has been to support WCSD’s parent teacher organizations, 4-H afterschool, STEAM Camps, and family community events. Her professional goals are to help provide a more caring, equitable, and engaging environment for all WCSD families, and their community.
