Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County operates several 4-H Afterschool Programs in multiple school districts in Jefferson and Lewis Counties. These programs provide comprehensive youth development opportunities for participants in grades pre-K-12 in participating school districts. Youth take part in 4-H club activities and life skills, focusing in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, art and math (STEAM) as well as a variety of other academic improvement initiatives utilizing research-based 4-H curricula. 

Title of Positions: 4-H Afterschool Program Educators

Position Details: P/T; 15-20 hrs/wk; $16.00/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive 4-H youth development opportunities for youth from the school district.
  • Provide guidance, direction and supervision for program participants and 4-H After-School activities, including club and life skills.
  • Assist collaborating teachers during the academic study portion of the program.
  • Provide instruction utilizing 4-H curricula in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, art and math (STEAM).
