About the Position: This position will serve as the Food Hub Program Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County and will provide program coordination and support to the Food Hub Program. This position will organize and coordinate activities and events relating to the Food Hub Program; coordinate all aspects of enrollment and reporting processes; and provide administrative assistance in support of programming efforts. This position will assist in data collection and database entry. This position will provide outreach to any and all groups as identified as important to the development of the Food Hub Project. This position will assist in the preparation of reports, presentations and any outreach materials to support the Food Hub Project. Activities may include those supporting the broader local foods industry, and posting on social media and websites to promote and provide updates to various audiences on the Food Hub Project. This position will assist in grant preparation. This position will conduct direct programming via social media efforts and will be responsible to write, design/layout program flyers, newsletters, etc. This position will serve as an accessible resource to program staff and volunteers as appropriate, will utilize existing program resources and materials in program work, and will assist in delivering and evaluating other educational programs as defined.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education (Associate’s Degree and 2 years of transferrable program/functional experience).
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Experience with database programs.
  • Working knowledge of Social Media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of PhotoShop.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards (DMV and criminal background checks).
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
