Title of Position: 4-H Afterschool Student Aide Educator

Details of Position: P/T, 20 hrs/wk, $18.75/hr

Location of Position: WCSD/CCE Jefferson County, 203 N. Hamilton St. Watertown, NY

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with special needs or who require additional support during 4-H Afterschool to ensure they can fully participate in activities, maintain focus, and succeed academically and socially in a safe environment.
• Collaborate with families to development learning and behavioral management plans and provide referrals to community programs as needed.
• Utilize existing resources and materials in program work including Cornell University research. 

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year of transferrable program/functional experience).
• Experience relevant to the role of the position.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position. Ability to meet all School Age Child Care (SACC) and Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) licensing requirements (i.e. Tuberculosis Text, physical exam, training requirements).
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Details of Position: F/T, 40 hrs/wk, $21.40/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive 4-H development opportunities for youth ages 13-18.
• Provide guidance and direction for program participants and afterschool activities.
• Utilize 4-H curriculum paired with academic tutoring and evening academic recovery programs, and the Growth, Reengagement, Inspiration and Transition (GRIT) program to reengage out of school youth.
• Assist in creating lesson plans.
• Provide supervision to program staff and provide staffing and/or programming coverage, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year transferrable/program experience).
• Experience relevant to the role of the position.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements.
• Ability to meet acceptable background check standards (DMV and criminal background checks).

• Assist in creating lesson plans, plan family engagement and literacy events, and organize field trips.
• Provide supervision to program staff and staffing or program coverage as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year transferrable/program experience).
