Title of Position: Association Custodian

Details of Position: P/T, 15 hrs/wk, $13.50 per hour

Location of Position: CCE Jefferson County, 203 N. Hamilton St., Watertown

About the Position:

Are you reliable, a hard worker, and a self-starter? This position may be for you! The Association Custodian will perform all duties outlined in this position description, as well as all duties outlined in the Custodial Schedule, which indicates daily, weekly and monthly duties to be accomplished. The Association Custodian may also perform additional duties as assigned at both the Hamilton Street facility, as well as 4-H Camp Wabasso.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months volunteer or work related experience.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet the travel requirements
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Opportunities in 4-H Afterschool Programming

For the 2019-2020 School Year

About our 4-H Afterschool Programs

Do you have a passion for working with kids?  Do you want to help them succeed academically and beyond?  Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County operates several 4-H After-School Programs in multiple school districts in Jefferson and Lewis Counties.These programs provide comprehensive youth development opportunities for participants in grades pre-K-12 in participating school districts.Youth take part in 4-H club activities and life skills, focusing in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, art and math (STEAM) as well as a variety of other academic improvement initiatives utilizing research-based 4-H curricula.

Title of Positions : 4-H Afterschool Program Educators

Position Details : Part-Time; 20 hrs/wk; $15.73/hr

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide comprehensive 4-H youth development opportunities for youth from the school district.
  • Provide guidance, direction and supervision for program participants and 4-H After-School activities, including club and life skills.
  • Assist collaborating teachers during the academic study portion of the program.
  • Provide instruction utilizing 4-H curricula in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, art and math (STEAM).
  • Assist in the creation of program lesson plans.
  • Provide staffing and/or programming coverage, as needed, for other 4-H After-School Programs.

Required Qualifications :

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year transferrable/program experience).
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Title of Position: Afterschool Program Assistant Coordinator

Position Details: P/T, 30 hrs/wk, $16.00 per hour

Work Location: Wiley Intermediate School/CCE Jefferson County, 203 N. Hamilton St. Watertown

About the Position:

The After-School Program Assistant Coordinator will provide comprehensive 4-H youth development opportunities for youth in grades 5-6. The assistant coordinator will provide instruction using established 4-H curricula in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, art and math (STEAM). This position will use existing program resources and materials in program work, assist in the creation of program lesson plans, use a variety of delivery methods and assist in delivering established innovative educational programs as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year transferrable/program experience).
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position, including valid NYS driver’s license.

They will provide established guidance and direction for program participants and after-school activities, including club and life skills, as well as assisting the collaborating teachers during the academic study portion of the program. The Assistant Program Educator will provide instruction utilizing established 4-H curriculum in the areas of environmental science and natural resources, science, technology engineering, and math (STEM).
