Title of Position: Family Development Program Educator
Details of Position: F/T, 40 hrs/wk, $21.50/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver established Family Development programs and activities for the Soldier and Family Readiness Division at Fort Drum.
- Implement programming both on-site and off-site in accordance with the Fort Drum Program Area’s plan of work.
- Manage administrative tasks including coordination and documentation.
- Assist with marketing and outreach efforts to promote Family Development programs to military families.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family, child counseling, behavioral science, education, community health, public health or equivalent education (Associate’s Degree and two (2) years transferable program/functional experience.
- Experience relevant to the role of the position.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in family and children’s services or community organizations.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in domestic/family violence education/prevention.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
- Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong connections between students, their families, the school, the afterschool program, and the local community, ensuring holistic support and engagement.
- Design and implement family engagement events and activities with the school and community, offer parent education opportunities, and integrate Cornell University research and programming to meet he program objectives/goals.
- Ensure students can access and participate fully in classroom activities, maintain focus, and succeed academically and socially in a safe, supportive environment.

- Associate’s Degree or equivalent education (GED/High School Diploma and 1 year of transferrable program/functional experience).
