Work Location: Fort Drum, NY

About the Position: This position will work with soldiers and family members stationed at Fort Drum to
provide financial awareness, education and planning.This position will primarily teach but not be limited to pre-developed programs intended to:improve credit and eliminate debt; effective car buying and home buying, budgeting for future goals; investing and other finance programs as defined. This position will also be responsible for administrative and coordination duties to support programming efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education. (Associate’s Degree and 1 year of transferrable program/functional experience.)
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards (DMV and criminal background checks). This position must also successfully complete background checks required by Fort Drum.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Position Title: SNAP-ED PROGRAM EDUCATOR

About the Position: This position will serve as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-ED)Program Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County will implement SNAP-ED programming for a menu of existing SNAP-ED educational programs and program activities. This position will implement already-existing educational programming to the public to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices among low-income families and individuals encompassing all age groups throughout Jefferson County. This position will be responsible for the delivery of established SNAP-ED programming to community groups, and will deliver other established SNAP-ED programming and activities, both on-site and off-site, in the community, in accordance with the Nutrition Program Area’s plan of work. This position will also coordinate all administrative aspects of the SNAP-ED Program and will assist the Nutrition Issue Leader and Social Marketing and Environmental Nutritionist with marketing efforts for SNAP-Ed programming, to include the environmental change initiative in collaboration with other nutritionists of the SNAP-ED program in the North Country Region.

About the Position: This position will provide guidance and direction for program participants and for afterschool activities, including club and life skills, as well as assisting the collaborating teachers during the academic study portion of the program. The Educator will be responsible for providing instruction using established 4-H curriculum in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The Educator will also coordinate with other Educators in the implementation of the program.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree and one (1) years volunteer or related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
