Grow Your Own Oyster Mushrooms

Learn to grow your own oyster mushrooms! During the webinar, we will present an overview of mushroom biology, basics on how-to sterilize and inoculate a substrate, alternative production methods, and potential business opportunities.
We will provide each participant a kit containing oyster mushroom spawn, three specialized plastic grow bags, and straw substrate. Participants will be encouraged to gather and experiment with other substrates from their homes – from spent coffee grounds to hardwood fuel pellets to clean brown cardboard.
Kits will be available for pickup at the CCE Jefferson office (203 N. Hamilton St. Watertown) during the week of January 11th.
Registration is due by January 13th. Space is limited!
