Title of Position: Ag & Natural Resources Program Manager 

Details of Position: F/T, 40 hrs/wk, $58,500 - $62,500/salary commensurate with experience 

Location of Position: CCE Jefferson County, 203 N. Hamilton St. Watertown

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide program and administrative leadership, management, and coordination of the Agriculture & Natural Resources educational programming 
• Assist in the development of program evaluation tools 
• Collaborate in applied research with Cornell University and other Land Grant University faculty 
• Supervise the planning and delivery of program topics to a variety of audiences to include, but not limited to: dairy and livestock, commercial and residential horticulture, and natural resources 
• Provide management and oversight of assigned grants and contracts 
• Assist with the development of annual program area's Plan(s) of Work 
• Supervise Ag & Natural Resources staff

• Bachelor’s Degree. 
• Experience relevant to the role of the position. 
• Writing skills including grant writing and reporting.

Title of Position: Crop and Soil Specialist

Details of Position: F/T, 40 hrs/wk, $65,000 - $75,000

Location of Position: CCE Jefferson County, 203 N. Hamilton St. Watertown

Key Responsibilities:

• Function as part of the Tri-County Regional Ag Team
• Provide technical assistance to farms and food businesses in St. Lawrence, Jefferson, and Lewis counties
• Provide leadership in the planning, development, management, and implementation of the crop and soil programs, technical assistance, and research across the region
• Provide commercial field crop producers, consultants, and industry representatives with the knowledge and educational resources necessary to assess production and management practices that will enhance their profitability and sustain the growth of the field crops industry in Northern New York
• Lead and facilitate the extension of research findings from Cornell University, other land grant universities and agribusinesses
• Work with local stakeholders to test alternative field crop management practices as the farm level

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• Must possess or have the ability to acquire a Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification and New York State Certified Pesticide Applicators License.
• Two (2) years volunteer or related work experience.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements.
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

• Engage parents and youth together and connect them with the school community (Paint & Sips, STEM and Health fairs, etc.).
• Utilize 4-H curricula, evidence-based curricula such as Positive Action and best practices to engage youth in career/college readiness.
• Coordinate and provide 4-H before school, after school, and during the summer. The target grades are 6^th – 12^th grades.
• Coordinate to offer NYS 4-H and land grant-based programming opportunities to align with identified needs within the school community.
• Provide activities that support postsecondary and workforce readiness, which will include using 4-H curricula and offering the NYS 4-H Career Explorations program.

Title of Position: SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator (2)

Details of Position: F/T, 40 hrs/wk, $22.75/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement nutrition, food demonstration, and cooking programming using pre-approved lesson plans and curricula aimed at improving healthy food and lifestyle choices among low-income families, individual, and youth groups throughout Jefferson and Lewis counties.
• Provide programming both on-site and off-site in the community.
• Assist the Nutrition Program Manager with marketing efforts and monthly reporting for SNAP-Ed, in collaboration with other nutritionists of the SNAP-ED program in the North Country Region.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education (Associate’s Degree and 2 years of transferrable program/functional experience) or above in nutrition, dietetics, community and behavioral health, health education, public health, or nursing. This includes persons certified as RD, RDN, CCN, CNS, and RN as well as other individuals with college level coursework in nutrition and/or health education with training and experience to communicate nutrition and obesity prevention topics.
• Strong understanding of community nutrition education topics and obesity prevention delivery methods.
• Experience with and understanding of rural, low-income populations.
• Experience with addressing nutrition/food insecurity.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements.
• Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.
