Implement Worksite Wellness

Worksite Wellness Initiative:

Making healthy choices easier leads to a healthy and productive staff. We can help with all aspects of wellness -- from policy development to education.

Worksite Wellness Program adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Recognize that a healthy workplace is good for business as well as for individual employees. Benefits include:
    • Control increasing health care costs
    • Reduce absenteeism
    • Improve productivity
    • Reduce injuries
    • Improve employee morale and retention
  • Create a wellness policy, systems, and an environment that encourages employees to be active, make healthy food choices, and take preventative measures to control their health.
  • Assemble a wellness committee with identified goals, objectives, and activities to encourage healthy behaviors at the workplace, advocate for policy change, and create health-friendly work environments.

The AHH Community Coalition will provide:

  • Information and education for organization owners, managers, and staff around wellness guidelines, practices, and policies.
  • Assistance with updating wellness policies and procedures.
  • Signs, posters, handouts, and/or other educational materials to promote health and nutrition.
  • Recognition through social and traditional media.

Organizations wishing to implement this initiative will:

  • Review and/or create wellness guidelines, practices, and/or policies to make the healthy choice the easy choice for their staff and community members with which they may engage.
  • Provide education for managers and staff as needed.
  • Display signs, posters, handouts, and/or other educational materials to promote health and nutrition in prominent locations.
