Selected by Master Gardeners, these films highlight environmental issues that are important to all citizens of the earth. Beat the winter blues and join us! All movies are FREE and start at 1 pm. 

January 30th: Double Feature!

  • Oceans: The Mystery of the Missing Plastic
    • In this investigation, scientists embark in search of the micro-plastics. Small, mostly invisible, toxic, they are home to a new ecosystem: the platisphere. (1 hour)
  • Under Our Skin
    • A chilling tale of microbes, medicine, and money, this Oscar shorlisted film has changed the landscape of the Lyme epidemic. (90 minutes)

February 27th

  • Normal is Over
    • A look at the financial and economical paradigm underlying our planetary problems, while offering various solutions to reverse the path of global decline. (90 minutes)

March 13th

  • Rachel Carson's Silent Spring
    • She was a biologist for the federal government when she first noted the effects of the unregulated use of pesticides and herbicides, especially DDT. Her warning sparked a revolution in environmental policy and a new ecological consciousness. (1 hour)
